So today, I finally got my eyes checked at Oakland Kaiser--my right eye has some minor astigmatism, but my left has gotten a teeny bit better! Weird, eh? So now, I can finally order contact lenses after wearing my glasses continuously for like a month, nerd style.

What else ... Ruby is enjoying her happy little time in studio: snuggling with Phat, averting her eyes from Bruce, playing with Jeannie, Jen, Vanessa ... and Terez (our instructor) has taken her up as the 16th student. It's just terribly cute, and studio is a nice environment to be in. I just wish there were more hours in a day, cuz I can't get no shut eye. After spending 8 bucks at Ace Hardware, I was pretty happy with my glass landscape/porn jars. Something about conceptual vision and control. Or, as Rick calls it, blah blah blah.

There are a slew of birthdays in the month of July. Fun-ness. Too many, almost, but it's fun to pick out and make presents. I love making presents! Additionally, I have these awesome drawings of Ruby that I need to photocopy and distribute.

I was getting bitter this week, and I think bitterness just extends itself, but things are looking on the up and up. I think I'm starting to come more to terms with what matters to me in this life, despite how much the world tells me to prioritize differently. Dammit, I can't. I've always been this way. I've always been the sentimental fool, sympathetic and brought to my knees by the simplest things. I feel what I feel, and I want to be an optimist. Thanks, Monkeypants (report, 190 ... !).

So many things that happened these past few days I should have written on bloggy, but haven't been able to. Ah well. So it goes.
