Why are all IQ tests pattern recognition, logic and spatial/language reasoning? Is this what's a 'neutral' sign of intelligence? (Is everything else, that is, stuff that's not 'logic' too culture-specific?)
I wonder what my art professor thinks about the current waves in art and filmmaking. I wonder if he'd call it heartless ... or confused. Or more just searching for meaning from the Past. I call it cold and too ironic or too cute or too brazenly whatever it wants to be brazen about. I want to make stuff that's just damn soft and not deliberately weird and deliberately counterintuitive. What about something that's not 'gritty reality in the eyes of'...not dream-like landscape of fastastical creatures...robots and technological pageantry...meth/lsd clashing in a sea of retro...rock&roll&skateboards&80s-slash-70s-slash-50s (reminiscing about the 60s is avoided due to its hyper-politics)&sexed-out-steam-room-destructotron-temptation-bombing-havoc-defiance-in-the-face-of-ambiguous-symbolism.
Gotta stop bitching. Gotta eat my gummy bear vitamins and go to sleep.
Wanna buy books to see what contemporary Chinese art is like?
