Muji + Kazuhiko Namba

I heart Kazuhiko Namba. He specializes in what he calls "Box Houses" -- kind of like "kit" projects built with standardized parts -- but with incredible space, beauty, variety, and simplicity. And he's literally done so many of these homes, he's almost perfected the art of modular residential architecture. (Although after I showed my mom the houses from the Gallery MA book of his, she said, "Houses aren't supposed to look like robots!"). The bottom two photos are of his project with Muji (the Japanese homewares store) from 2004.
