unusual behavior

i've been making a lot of definitive statements lately. among them:

(at comic relief) w: "it's apparent adrian tomine only likes white women."
me: (puts optic nerve issue #10 back on the shelf) "it's over, adrian. no more."

(while driving over the bay bridge to berkeley) x: "an image is so static. but music has so much flux, by altering the tempo slightly, chord progressions ..."
me: (ruminating for a moment) "film is the most complex medium of our time."

(sitting around) y: "sex is overrated."
me: "totally." (much later, thinking to self: "WHAT?!!")

(via email) y: "and london to electronic music is like the bay area to technology. so basically, you should move to london."
me: "okay."

(at chow) z: "do you sometimes think you will never get married?"
me: "yes. i do."

all right. i should end before it gets too heated. although, it seems like each of these snippets could be elaborated into very large, subjective blog entries. very strange stuff coming out of my mouth; interpret at will. (apologies if i misquoted you!)

oh jean.

about blogs in general: they're just scrawlings in online notebooks! they're little scrapbooks without the added benefit or aesthetic of scotch tape, or ink, or fingerprints, or wear & tear! and, every now and then, people open one up and doodle/tag it. sometimes, blogs are just big yearbooks for people to sign.

i've narrowed myself down to 2 notebooks (1 big, 1 tiny) and 1 blog. i'll figure out what to do with my cameras and sound recorders later. as i've stopped taking comprehensive notes in classes, these notebooks seem to belong to "Harriet the Spy". even when i do take class notes, they take the form of dialogues or brief screenplays. students say the darndest things!!!

anyway, we should "hang out" in the berkeley public library next year (when we're both in town!). the 5th floor (art & music) is the best floor. reams, shelves, stacks, and heaps of books, magazines, vinyl, cassette tapes, compact disc cases.... which all vastly outnumber the humans!! it's absolutely calming. screw Amoeba (for now)! do you remember being there?

thanks for hanging out on wednesday night. i got lots of "talk" outta my system.. albeit in mangled, unorganized gibberish form!

nice ... you edited your virtual space down. it's my one great wish to minimize everything i have or 'operate' down to what i can have around without life being too boring. (it'd be nice to carry everything in 2 suitcases, but all those electronics are awful heavy ...)

there's definitely something uneasy about working for a company that produces lots of goods w/ planned obsolescence in mind. but i suppose this is the only way to go play the market as a public corporation ...

ah ... curating massive information overload ... i want less, not more choice; i want the best, not all. one of the top activities of our american life.

just thought about how 'whittling down' also applies to relationships, friends ...

time is scarce.

you should meet my old buddy, n.g.

"is sex overrated?"

her response: "lemme tell YOU, buddy! gibber gibber mea mea la la la sex ex sex ex...wah!"

[translation: no, she doesn't think sex is overrated. yes, she is also an asian female. thirdly, me, too.]

tomine was on my mind at most a couple nights ago.

and i've mixed feelings about moving to europe. like i said [typed], probably not for another few decades. ?

it would break my family's heart, i think. exaggeration, yes. but i am the baby of the family, on both sides. kind of.
