boudicca ss07

boudicca is one of the few houses that uses text to addend their images, and by text, i mean the semiotics kind. the site for their spring/summer 2007 collection is eager to take you, nearly academia-style, through their postmodern travails into the supermodern (as they quote, placeless-ness). their work always has a touch of something seriously epic. after leaving school, i'm no longer a huge fan of themes imbued with violence and revolution, but these exaggerated bows and sharp cuts are good, really good.

there's something both dramatic and demure about their first couture collection, a film noir covered in future powder. amongst other couture collections, it's a refreshingly bright identity.
