Running
So I ran for forty-five minutes at 4.8 mph. But, for some reason, the muscles I want to target are not sore. What a useless workout. At least it expended my energy for the night. Otherwise, where would it go? (frustration)
So, it was interesting today that I stopped by Casa Zimbabwe (which, if the whole house proclaimed themselves Africans, would make still "sense") and hung out for about an hour with Kevin and Rick. I played pool, only one good game, and four poor ones. (I wonder if playing at Thalassa at least twice a week has improved anything. I doubt it.) The weird thing was that the Red Room, in my vague memory of it, turned out to be the opposite of what I remembered it was. The room has such clean, crimson-painted wood plank walls. For some reason, I had never remembered the walls being such a vivid, lovely red. For some reason, in my memory, they were some sickly deep red or dark blue, laqcuered on concrete. Or possibly green -- a little deeper than a lime-ish green. Who knows. The last time I was there was ... five months ago? Weird how memories play such tricks. What trickery my mind plays on unsuspecting me!
So, I have to tell you how much I am in <3 with "College Dropout." I don't know what you haters are saying about Kanye West, but I think his album is rich, melodic, sensible, and fucking entertaining. I know you all will like this--it's silly and totally fits into this entry: "1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and get them sit ups right and/ Tuck your tummy tight and do your crunches like this/ Give head, stop, breathe, get up, check your weave/ Don't drop the blunt and disrespect the weed/ Pick up your son and don't disrespect your seed/ It's a party tonight and ooh she's so excited/ Tell me who's invited: you, your friends and my dick/ What's scary to me is Henny makes girls look like Halle Berry to me/ So excuse me miss, I forgot your name/ Thank you, God bless you, good night, I came..."
On the floor next to my bed, for reading, hopefully:

the most recent issue of the New Yorker (it'll be the first of my sixth year of subscription)
ps Nimajneb, you'd better be happy, because I made two new entries!
